The Technology Commercialization Office (TCO) is here to serve our faculty and students, and our partners in business and investment and the community. Our goal is to add value in every transaction and support all phases of university technology commercialization and start-up development at the Ohio State University. We serve our faculty, researchers, students and clinicians by attempting to turn their inventions, ideas, technologies and research into business opportunities and products that make an impact on Ohio and the world. We do this by first assessing an innovation, developing an intellectual property strategy, determining a business strategy, creating a development plan, finding and connecting to the proper resources and partners, structuring the deal and then monitoring its success. The TCO is a brand new model that engages students, companies, researchers and capital partners in distinct ways with specific programs that meet the needs of our research colleges. We have some of the best scientists and world-renowned physicians tackling devastating problems and creating innovative solutions related to medicine, and specifically, regenerative medicine. From increasing wound healing capabilities through technology to creating some of the most advanced imaging the medical world has seen to date; TCO partners with many of OSU’s world renowned medical researchers to bring their ideas from the lab to the global marketplace.
