Welcome to the OSU College of Medicine Office of Research Education! We invite you to join us in exploring the intriguing complexities in biomedical science with the ultimate goal of enhancing the prevention, diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of disease.

Our mission is to facilitate the education and training of the future leaders of biomedical research; leaders who will shift paradigms and create the medical breakthroughs of the future.

Our strategy is to promote a passion for life-long learning, a commitment to excellence and innovation, and a shared vision between students, faculty mentors and staff to create an unrivaled collaborative research education and training environment. 

We invite you to browse the College of Medicine Office of Research Education weblink to appreciate the breadth, depth and novelty of our research education and training programs offered across the continuum of students:  Undergraduate Biomedical Science Major, Integrated Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program (IBGP), Medical Student Research, MD PhD dual degree program, Masters of Medical Science Program, Postdoctoral Office, and the undergraduate honors program, advanced masters program, DPT PhD dual degree and the Health and Rehabilitation Science Graduate Program offered in the COM School of Allied Medical Professionals. In addition, specialized training is provided through the Ohio State University Medical Center’s Signature Programs: Cancer, Critical Care, Heart, Imaging, Neurosciences, and Transplant.

The Office of Research Education also collaborates with the NIH-funded Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) to provide students with multidisciplinary training opportunities in bench-to-bedside, bedside-to-bench and bedside to community medical research. The Office of Research Education interfaces with many entities including the Office of Health Sciences, Office of Research, the Graduate School  to develop, coordinate and communicate student resources and services. Our research education program directors and staff and signature program liaisons comprise the COM Research Education Council which meets monthly to address organizational, programmatic and policy issues.

Our faculty are members of the School of Biomedical Science (SBS), the School of Allied Medical Professionals (SAMP), departments of the OSU Medical Center (OSUMC) medicalcenter.osu.edu/, departments of the Nationwide's Children's Hospital and Research Institute www.nationwidechildres.org as well as many other departments and colleges across the Ohio State University.

Our students take ownership in the evolution of their programs, student-to-student mentoring and career development through participation in student organizations such as the Integrated Biomedical Scientist Student Organization (IBSO), the Medical Scientist Student Organization (MSSO), the medical student Landacre Honor Society and the OSUMC Research Day Organizing Committee.

Our Graduates are multidisciplinary professionals trained to perform state of the art, collaborative research designed to improve health care in the local, national and international community. We invite you to join us to be at the forefront in transforming the future of medicine.
