His clinical practice covers the broad spectrum of infectious diseases including HIV. Special InterestsDr. Wininger is a co-investigator with OSU's AIDS Clinical Trial Unit, has a special interest in metabolic complications of HIV, and participates on multicenter trial development teams with the NIH-funded AIDS Clinical Trials Group. Dr. Wininger is involved with medical education at all levels of training. He focuses on two extremes in the continuum: 1) leading the design and implementation of a new first year medical student curricular block on "Host Defense" and 2) recently assuming the role of an associate program director for the Department of Internal Medicine's residents.
