Dual Degree

Financial Services > Scholarships > College of Medicine > Dual Degree

The college has coordinated efforts with certain graduate schools to offer a variety of dual degree programs. While enrolled in graduate coursework, students are no longer eligible for College of Medicine scholarships.

When participating in the graduate portion of the dual degree program, which usually occurs between the second and third year of medical school, you are still eligible to apply for loan funding. To do so, you will need to file the FAFSA form by the date suggested by your graduate program. Most graduate students can receive up to $18,500 in federal loans by filing the FAFSA form.

Students will need to speak with their graduate program to determine specific information regarding applications and deadlines for scholarship consideration. In general, all graduate programs award graduate associateships and fellowships to a select number of their students.

MD/PhD Medical Scientist Program
Students who are admitted receive up to full-tuition and a $22,000 stipend each year for the entire dual degree. Therefore, students receive complete funding for not only their PhD degree but also complete funding for their MD degree. For more information, please contact Ashley Bertran at Ashley.bertran@osumc.edu.

MD/MBA Program
To be considered for all MBA scholarship funding, students should apply to the MBA program no later than December 31st. If you have questions about scholarship possibilities, please contact Kara Albert at albert_132@fisher.osu.edu.

MD/MHA Program
To be considered for all MHA scholarship funding, students should apply to the MHA program no later than January 15th. Due to the demanding coursework, students are only considered for graduate fellowships and not graduate associateships.

MD/MPH Progam
To be considered for all MPH scholarship funding, students should apply to the MPH program no later than January 15th.

MD/JD Degree
The Moritz College of Law has a rolling admission process which starts in September and ends in March. Therefore, to be considered for all JD funding, students are strongly encouraged to submit their applications as early as possible in the admission process. Although students are considered for several scholarships via submission of their admission application, students can also submit applications for the Level II Need Grant, Specialty Scholarships, and the Moritz Merit Scholarships which have deadlines in February and March.
