Successful faculty members deserve to be recognized for their accomplishments. The Center will work with departments to identify external award opportunities and facilitate the submission of awards. A panel of distinguished faculty will be available to vet nominations and help to improve submissions to ensure success. The leader of this program is Heather Brod.
The College of Medicine Distinguished Professor Award: This award honors up to three regular faculty members who have truly exceptional records of accomplishment appropriate to their track.
All regular faculty members in the College of Medicine at the rank of Professor are eligible to be nominated for this award. Nominations may be made by Department Chairs and Center and Institute Directors.
Awardees will be honored with the permanent title of College of Medicine Distinguished Professor and a $1000 honorarium.
Inaugural 2011 recipients: E. Christopher Ellison, MD, Surgery; Wendy Frankel, MD, Pathology; and Randy Nelson, PhD, Neuroscience
Nominations are due to the FAME office by 5pm on November 16, 2012.

The College of Medicine Innovation Excellence Award in Education, Scholarship or Clinical Care: These awards recognize up to three faculty members who demonstrate excellence in leadership and innovation in one of the three mission areas of the college.
Faculty who are interested in being nominated for this award should submit materials that demonstrate leadership and innovation in either education, scholarship/research or clinical care to their Department Chair. The Chair may submit one nomination to the College.
Awardees will be recognized with a $500 honorarium.
Nominations are due to the FAME office by 5pm on November 16, 2012.
