One of the cornerstones of FAME is the faculty mentoring program. A recent survey of our college found that approximately 50% of the faculty has identified a mentor. However, of those, 20% met with their mentor only once a year.
In an effort to enhance new faculty professional and personal growth, we are planning a major investment in the mentoring program.
We need mentors. A truly valuable mentor has to be someone willing to commit to the time that good mentoring requires. An overview of what is required may be found in this flyer:
Mentorship Flyer 011812.docxFor an indepth overview of the expectations of mentors and proteges, we encourage you to read through the
MENTORSHIP_BEST_PRACTICES 7 22 11.docx document developed by OSU's Center for Clinical and Translational Science.
If you are interested in becoming a mentor, please return this form to FAME.
