The Medical Student Alumni Council started in 2000, with a meeting of three medical students 
(Froylan Gonzalez; Paul Krummen, and Leah Brown) and alumni office staff at that time. The focus of the meeting was to discuss ways to enhance the relationship between the medical students and the Medical Alumni Society.
Several excellent suggestions were made at this meeting and a new council was organized to maintain the link between the Medical Alumni Society and the current medical students. A Constitution and By-laws for The Medical Student Alumni Council was also written at that time.
In February 2001, the first “official” meeting of the council was held in Meiling Hall and 35 students attended. Since that time, the Medical Student Alumni Council has continued to flourish in the College. The group traditionally meets 2 times/year and has sponsored such events as a Medical Student/Alumni Golf Scramble, the Maurice “Mo” Mullet Medical Student Alumni Forum, Women in White Coats, Meet the Doctors, and Admitted Student Welcome receptions.
